Our restaurant opened over 17 years ago in 1989 in the heart of historic Old Town San Diego (The birthplace of California). We continue to serve authentic award winning Mexican cuisine and serve award winning specialty margaritas.

We are open 364 days each year for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can accommodate your passengers any day except Christmas. We have Public and Private Banquet Rooms in San Diego such as our Cabo and Guadalajara rooms and we have a total seating of 440 in our restaurant. In addition to our private rooms, we have a large seating area and spacious outdoor seating to take advantage of the beautiful Southern California climate. We can easily handle any large group you graciously refer to us. Please see our enclosed menus for both regular dining and for banquets.

Café Coyote is Interesting!

Café Coyote is located in the Heart of Old Town San Diego. Old Town is the birthplace of California and it’s the most visited destination in San Diego. Many people come to Old Town to experience the fun and flavor of Mexico without having to deal with increased International Border crossing difficulties. In addition to the Mexican experience, Old Town is full of fun shops and in the heart of the Walking District so it’s a good beginning to The Old Town Experience.

Café Coyote strives hard to deliver the experience of Mexico. The area around Café Coyote feels like a place right out of Old Town Mexico. The strolling festive mariachi bands, colorful Mexican style courtyards and the tortillerias making fresh tortillas in front of you make it very easy to believe you’re in a nice old Mexican town.

The food quality is excellent and is the recipient of many prestigious awards. Whatever you choose will be great especially when eaten with their freshly made tortillas, salsa and guacamole.

If having a drink is to your calling, Café Coyote boasts awards for their margaritas. Have margarita while rooting for your favorite team on a big screen TV in their Cantina. Make sure to keep an eye out for their Tequila Ambassador! Mario Marquez is on a mission to educate the public on Tequila (The new popular drink of choice). With over 100 tequilas, it’ll be a fun experience.
